Aspiring Forensic Psychologist & Community Builder
I'm a senior at Alton High School with a 3.55 cumulative unweighted GPA (3.79 weighted), a passion for understanding the human mind, and a clear mission: to earn my PhD in Forensic Psychology and apply science in service of justice and healing. Outside the classroom, I'm building things — programs, communities, and a body of work that reflects who I am and where I'm going.
Grades show consistent improvement year over year — from a developing freshman to a senior carrying three AP courses simultaneously alongside a live Biomedical Internship. The trajectory matters as much as any individual grade.
Grade 12 · Senior Year · 2025–2026 3 AP Courses · Biomedical Internship

At 17, Sloan identified a real gap in patient care — people spending hours or days in hospital waiting rooms and wards with nothing to occupy their minds during one of the most stressful periods of their lives. She designed, launched, and personally championed a donation drive to collect enrichment items — games, puzzles, books, art supplies — delivered directly to hospital house supervisors for distribution to patients in need.
The program ran from August through September, was extended due to community response, and is now an ongoing annual program she continues to champion independently — unaffiliated with any hospital or institution, funded entirely through community donation.
"Sloan's Patient Enrichment project showcased her initiative and her ability to apply compassion and creativity to a meaningful cause. Whether she is leading, listening, or learning, Sloan approaches every endeavor with sincerity and purpose."Kelly Paige · Biomedical Sciences Teacher, Alton High School · November 2025
National mathematics honor society for high school and two-year college students. Membership reflects demonstrated excellence in mathematics coursework and academic achievement. Mu Alpha Theta's focus on mathematical rigor directly underpins Sloan's AP Statistics foundation — the analytical core of her forensic psychology career path.
Peer mentorship and transition leadership program. Link Crew members are selected and trained to guide incoming freshmen through the high school transition — providing orientation, support, and ongoing connection throughout their first year. Reflects Sloan's natural role as someone peers turn to for guidance and a listening ear.
Regular volunteer service preparing and serving meals to community members in need at the Salvation Army. Direct service work that reflects Sloan's commitment to showing up for people in vulnerable circumstances — a practice that directly informs her goal of working with individuals facing mental health and addiction challenges.
Volunteer math tutoring for students who need additional academic support. Translating complex mathematical concepts into accessible explanations — and doing it with patience — is exactly the kind of skill that makes an exceptional forensic psychologist who must explain technical findings to non-specialist audiences.
Consistent volunteer service in her church nursery — providing care, engagement, and support for the youngest members of her faith community. Demonstrates reliability, compassion, and the ability to show up consistently for others in a caregiving role.
Self-designed, self-funded community initiative collecting enrichment items (games, puzzles, books, art supplies) for hospital patients experiencing cognitive decline, mental health crises, or lengthy hospital stays. Founded and personally championed — now an ongoing annual program entering its second year.
